Before I plunge ahead and try to remove these plugs, is there a safe way to remove these without ruining them please and thanks in advance?

The swing arm plug is easy. Just pry out with a paint scraper. The front fork is tough. I don't know a good way, so, maybe someone else has the answer. I ruin one by prying it out and with a socket and extension, push out the other from the other side. For every two forks, I get one good set of plugs. I think it's best to buy new ones from asia. (IMO)

Since new plugs were readily available on eBay, I was less concerned about keeping the original plugs in pristine condition.

Thanks for that bit advice, I didn't look there first - another lesson learned, even at my advanced age. Cliff.
