Got the bikes out of the trailer to do maintence and a general clean/polish ,get them ready for a car/ bike show this weekend .
Anybody use a regular grease gun to grease the Honda fittings and watch as half the grease squirts out and on to the surrounding areas only to have to clean-up the leftover grease and get everything wiped down and clean again ?
It occurred to me that if I take a paper towel and push it over the fitting then grease the fitting I might not have as much clean-up . Try it , it works .

For my CA95 project, I pulled every single old Honda grease fitting out as I cleaned and prepped each part, and then drilled/tapped threads to install new metric zerk fittings. It's so nice to actually have the grease gun fit snugly to the fittings.

I did this everywhere the old fittings were - clutch adjuster on the left side cover, front suspension, and brake housings. Took only a couple of minutes per fitting, but I had the advantage of having everything apart.

Sure is nice to snap the grease gun on the new fittings and not see a single leak.

Hey guys - how much grease should I be pumping into these fittings?

One or two pumps and you should see grease squeezing out of the seals .
May be better to under do it rather than over do it . Less clean-up .
