Ca95 and CA160 Chain Guard

I have to share this tid bit of info. I'm building a CA160 (which can be followed on another thread). The rarest part of both the CA95 & CA160 seems to be the chain guard (followed by the petcock)

I had a top half of a CA160 and a complete CA95 chain guard in the shop. What I noticed is the top half of the CA160 chain guard was a little different on the sprocket end then the bottom half of the CA95 guard.

Below is my answer that works. Install a late model CA95 swing arm on my CA160. The chain guard form the CA95 matches perfect.

Also for anyone following this build, The bike I started with was way gone. I decided to build the bike on the bench first, less rims. Then make the body repairs, wiring mods and any custom work...even Buco Saddlebag mount & wire. I will then breakdown the bike for paint and chrome then reassemble.

I didn't know you were working on a third; I thought it was just the two burgundy bikes.

I lucked out on an upper half of a chain guard early last year; it was listed as fitting something else. It fit perfectly I felt I lucked out; even though the cost was low enough not to miss if it didn't work...I need to see if I have it archived to see what model it was for, if I find out I'll post the results.

Update: Found it in my archives; I ordered a top guard from a CB92 and it fit it like it was made for the CA95 it was NOS still in primer for 25.00 I also ordered a S65 to try for the bottom and it didn't work; I was going to mod it and make it work, but my pipes cover the bottom half of the sprocket so I didn't bother with it.

I hope this helps anyone looking; The CB92 bottom should fit as well, but I only saw a top when I was ordering. It is also quite possible the seller listed the guard wrong; that it wasn't a really a CB92 guard and I just lucked out...
