Let us know what you find out. I would hope they would do this service for a reasonable price.

I have heard nothing but good things from Charlies place. Like Smithers said, give us a heads up on their pricing. I may need to take my bike there for a quick rundown, before I'll trust it on the road :)

The North is the border with Scotland just like you have with Canada.
Geography lesson over, carry on. :D :D :D :D

Ok, Finally got around to calling Charlie for a price quote. They charge $95 an hour for labor. For a tune up it would be around 2 1/2 hrs... I can imagine how long an rebuilt would be. There's a guy in MA that does pretty good work on these old CA95. he got a couple of video on Youtube that he posted up showing his work. I talked to him, he charged $40 an hour. to do my engine he quoted me about 20 hrs which included the following.

Hello.......I figure 20 hours (= 800.00 @ $40.00 per hr.) to take my engine out of spare ca95, put your engine into my CA95, roadtest, adjust valves, clean carb, new plugs and oil (by the way you must drain oil out before shipping), set points...etc., make sure it runs right!, Then, take engine out, sandblast it, prime, paint and clearcoat engine. Add $100.00 for paint cost = $900.00, plus shipping back and forth????,

the only problem is that I would have to ship it there and back. I still think it a cheaper. Again, judging by the videos, he does do a pretty job...here's a video of a 64 CA95 he did....
welcome everyone thoughts on this.
thank

You have the contact info on Oakys Garage? With my job and other time constraints, I just don't think I'll be able to do a good job on an engine rebuild. But I would like to get my CA95 up and running next summer if possible. I'd like to contact them and see what their schedule is and what they'd need.

Thanks.
