Finally located a cheap source of 3.00 x 16 tires for my builds. They are rated for bikes smaller that 500CC and speed rated at 93mph.

Great find! Hard to find decent tires as the sizes aren't up to todays standards.

good price, I just put a pair on m 62 last weekend. I paid 55.00 each at my local bike shop. How much did shipping add? Im waiting for my mufflers so I havent even taken the bike off the bench yet.Curt

It sounds as if I didnt get hurt too bad. I like to give them business when I can as occasionaly I need them It looks like you got the strips and tubes free compared to my price.

I bought my tires and tubes here http://smalltires.com/products/shinko-s ... 807562.cfm and painted the whitewalls 1950's style with parking lot line marker paint. They are shinko 4 ply P speed rated 92mph.

Theres a whitewall option not as obscenely priced as the firestones here http://www.bikebandit.com/shinko-classi ... e#QAHeader down in the Q and A someone asks if they fit a 305 dream which is also a 16 X 3.25 customer service says yes.

It's always nice to have a few options on the table.

Watch out for customer care folks who answer questions about fit on the old Honda Dreams. 99.99% Don't have a clue.

The 3.00 x 16 tire metric conversion is 80/80 x 16 3.25/3.50 x 16 is 80/90 x 16

The MT90 x 16 is a 130 x 16. Is does not fit. How do I know? I fell for the "customer service" answer and bought the MT90 x 16 whitewall. No way does it fit. It's basically a big V-Twin tire. Steer Clear.

Spokes I am sorry to hear that about the whitewalls, i was hoping to find a less expensive alternative to the firestones...however, the shinko black walled from the first site are the ones I purchased and fit like a...insert PUN here. I whole heartedly agree about Customer Service as CS follows B.S. in logical order It sounds like whomever tried to change the calculations over to metric failed miserably. I know fractions are hard for some people but when its your job...? 1 inch equals 2.54 cm last I converted. The street tires get a 100/90x16 and the off road gets an 80/100x16 the MT90 is a whopping 5.0 to 5.10 inches yikes spokes where as the alpha MM90 is for 3.25 to 3.5 inches. If anyone has issues reading that chart let me know.

Those IRC tires are the same ones I bought for my 305 Dream but in the 3.50 x 16 size. And, the whitewall portawalls fit those tires like a glove. Nice looking tires. I can't wait to get the chance to take it out on the road. Soon enough!

Received Sat(7/2)from Small Tire Store a 3.00-16 Cheng Shin tire. I could not believe what they sent me! Right size, but it was smashed flat as a pancake(no way a tube will go in), warped badly from having been at the bottom of a heavy stack(I presume) since it was made in MAY 1991! Over 20yrs old! Needless to say, they are getting it back tomorrow. It will be interesting to hear what they say in response when I call them. I would be ashamed and embarrassed to send out something, like what I got from them.

Talked to a very nice fellow named "T.J", at Small Tire Store. He apologized for the tire being as old and crappy as it was. He said he will be sending me a replacement Kenda and that I'm to pitch the one I'm holding. The tire came in a bundle just this past May, according to their records. Will give you an update and them a final evaluation when the Kenda arrives.

Sheesh! I hate that. Companies trying to offload their crap to customers and hoping they just don't complain or call back to complain. grrr.

Folks in the "Front Office" don't see the inventory. It's the ignorant folks in the warehouse and shipping or the supervisor that sends the junk on, just doing their job and nothing more. Don't expect a 19yr old warehouse worker to know what is what. This is why I mount all my own tires, on motorcycles. It's the newest, least experienced worker that gets the dirtiest jobs, too often. I've seen the results of tires that were improperly mounted and came off the rim a few miles down the road.
