As part of my project to build a different exhaust (mufflers) I'm in need of several scrape CA95 mufflers . Really I just need the inlet ends that slip over the exhaust pipe . Their easy to hacksaw from the muffler body .
I've cut one from a shot muffler I have but my 2nd muffler body is still in decent condition . If anyone has mufflers you haven't junked yet ,let me know .
Thanks

I have a right muffler that I can let go. Its rusted out on the outlet end. I need a good right hand muffler if you might have one.

Hey ,Thanks . P.M. me or send me an e-mail with your address . I have a right side muffler that's not rusted out and should clean up to a reasonable muffler .

I plan on putting straight fishtails on mine when I get that far, no baffles or anything in there to restrict the exhaust. A builder guy told me years ago just by unrestricting the exhaust you gain almost 5hp and is the easiest mod to do for extra umph.

Gaining 5 hp on a 10 hp motor by changing pipes sounds like a pipe dream to me. ymmv Curt

He's a guy that made the N.C. state highway patrol 5.0 mustang modification that was and as far as I know still classified. My disclosure...he was using modified Huey helicopter engines. Maybe he said 5 miles per hour, this was nearly 15 years ago and we both we pretty drunk...

I am glad someone said something honestly, because I wouldn't want more misinformation out there already, I certainly don't need to add to it...No insult taken, nothing bothers me any more you can only be hurt so much, until one day there's nothing left to hurt ya know? Worm food walking.

Jet, it might be true on the Mustang with a few carb mods but not on your Honda.
There is every chance it would make your bike slower and it will defo be very noisey.

The theory behind the power losses when the mufflers are unrestricted from what I understand, is from the heat loss as well as the exhaust scavenging of gases that also gets lost. I plan on giving the headers a good ceramic coating then heat wrapping them...By wrapping the exhaust it maintains hotter exhaust gas, decreases gas density, and allows the exhaust gas to exit the system faster. Greater exhaust scavenging is produced thus lowering intake temperatures. So By wrapping I should get the beneficial effect of the system being baffled etc, without any losses, and perhaps some gains since the exhaust gases can also exit faster.
I don't want to get ran over or merged on so loud is a safety feature to me.

The power loss from unrestricted exhaust is from not having some back pressure. Tuned exhausts as well as standard exhaust systems offer slight back pressure. It is known that slight back pressure is actually beneficial to engine performance. I like loud exausts and straight pipes for their sound. Wrapping the exhaust to change the exhaust temp and physical profile of the excaping gasses is fine and dandy but the benefit from the modified exhaust gases are really hard to measure or feel from 154cc engine.
Not to argue a point, do what you want to do. With bikes as anything goes. I would (and will) focus on: Proper carb settings, good valve lash adjustment, correct timing, point set and correct spark plugs with a gap set to spec's. Clean and lubricated wheel bearings with a clean and properly adjusted chain. Clean fuel and using recomended engine oil will get the best bang for your buck.. Remember you only have 14-16hp anyway.. hauling 400+ lbs (itself+rider+fuel)
