C92, To paint or not to paint?
C92, To paint or not to paint?
I have a 1963 (according to the VIN #) C92 which I am restoring. The color is a pink which I understand the group calls "Tokyo Rose". The question is to paint it Tokyo Rose pink (maybe my wife would like the color) or Honda red which makes the bike look great. Is the C92 with pink rare enough to keep the original color? How many C92s were made? I can't find statistics.

Original paint is a lot more important in vintage cars; because they have paint codes.
If you ever sell it you might want to tell the new owner what color it was.
I'd go by choice bearing in mind exotic paints may only apply to your tastes if you sell it...lowering value.
I don't know how many were made or if it matters...other than keeping a hidden spot of original paint open for inspection; everyone could paint theirs and claim it that color, as no records I know of were kept.
