Good call on the clutch plates they didn't even cross my mind. Old timers were always pure graphite pure graphite, but I guess that was the best tech of the day, looking it up in research if you can keep water off it its really good, but if water gets in your cable graphite bad....it will start decomposing iron and aluminum...so gun oil might be the better upgrade in tech for cables. I'm pretty sure it was mystery oil that kept my engine from seizing when it sat outside for all those years and not the sweat of little boy dreams :) I've also poured some into spark plug holes let it sit for ten minutes then hook up to a car and get yanked behind another car to un seize the stuck car engines with out damaging the rings or cylinders. I dunno I like the stuff they've been around since the 1930's, so they're only still alive by their results. You know how anal car guys can be if they don't like something it has a limited shelf life for sales. Although I don't know why quaker state oil is still around that stuff is pure crap, I'd rather piss in my engine for lubrication than use that stuff.

Amen about Quaker State. Bad news. The one oil to steer clear of.......for any application.
