Oldest Honda Benly 125cc

I have neglected to post any pictures from our trip to the San Jose Vintage Motorcycle Show - been a tiny bit busy lately. I was going through some photo albums and I had to stop to look at this old Benly as I just think it's one of the coolest Hondas out there. So I decided to prep some pictures to post here. My camera is horrible for taking pictures indoors, especially with fluorescent lighting! My apologies but at least I'm putting them up for all to see.

This is Allen Siekmans 1958 Honda Benly 125cc model JC 58. What a bike!

My friend took some pictures with his SLR big money camera so when I get some pictures from him I'll post them up. These will have to do for now.

The question is: "Would you start up this this bike just to try it out? Or are you too scared to run it because there is no chance finding spare engine parts for this?".

I knew everyone would get a kick out of that Benly! There aren't many pictures at all on the web of this bike. I have to get my friends pictures from his big camera to update this little collection soon.

Hi Ryan, cool pics but they are not what you think.
The bikes are four strokes, not two. Notice the oil feed going up into the valve covers.
It was 58 when the first Benly twins came out to play.
There was a very early twin motor on ebay a few months back but there were that few made, I doubt you would be able to get spares for them despite the fact that it looked identical to the motors that we all know.
It had distributer ignition off the right hand end of the camshaft and there were no visible signs of a breather which makes me think it would be a 58 motor that breathed through the crankshaft. This era motor also had a rotary gearbox.

Correction made. Now I want to take it apart and see what it looks like in that engine.

These bikes are sweet. I love the pieces like this that showcase exactly where a gigantor company like Honda came from.
