A few more questions

Post by Hohlederschatten »

I checked the timing chain over the weekend and although it is structurally fine the slack bothers me. it is pretty loose. not enough to where i could pop it off but i could move it quite a bit.
what is acceptable? how does the chain regulator operate on this bike?

Also, i feel stupid asking but how the heck to i get to the ignition coil???

Chances are that it's just fine. Can't tell unless I mess with it myself. There is a long spring that pushes on the cam chain tensioner. Unless the oil was run dry and there is crud in the engine then the spring and tensioner should be working fine. Just take it apart and see. I don't see that spring EVER becoming weaker than it was designed to be.
And follow the spark plug wire to the coil. :)
