Hi Everyone,
I am getting very close to my epic ride (20 miles to work). I am stopping by the DMV for my sticker and the insurance agent for my proof of insurance on Monday. Then, probably on the next really nice day I will be riding to work. I was at our Honda dealer getting some screws for my new tailight lense and I looked at their hi viz jackets, neon yellow I like. But I noticed the more expensive ones have all kinds of armor in the elbows and shoulders and seems like a real good idea. I will be traveling at "speeds" of up to 40 maybe a little more. Does anyone else think this would be money well spent and has anyone bought one of these? I bought a good helmet a few months back. thank you Steve
Armored hi viz jacket?
My main riding jacket has those pads at the elbows and shoulders. Fortunately, I haven't "tested" those features, so I can't really say whether it's money well spent. During cold weather I still use my heavy black leather jacket.
I've contemplated taking my CA95 to work, since it's only a 15-17 minute ride. The top posted speed along that route is 40 MPH, so being Michigan, people drive 50-55. If I stayed to the right, I could probably keep up, but since the Benly takes a while to reach those speeds, I've chickened out so far and mounted the Triumph triple instead.
Let us know how the commute works out!
