Great analogy, it illustrates the point well. I've been getting interested in carburetor theory lately with my carb-swapping my first 2-stroke - fitting the little bugger is quite the adventure.

Has anyone actually used an aftermarket carb successfully? I would like to know which one and how they went about jetting it. I know I am in the CA95 thread, but I have a CA160 with the air adjustment screw broken off inside the hole and the tube that the fuel line goes on is leaking like a sieve. I can't find an original carb anywhere and would be thrilled if I could get an aftermarket to work. Anybody ever try to drill out an air screw? Been able to do it successfully? Suggestions to stop the leak on the inlet tube? It leaks out around tube and the opening it goes into on the carb.

If it is a press-fit brass fuel inlet, you might have luck with a gas-resistant adhesive.

2 Part gas tank expoxy will work to seal the gas inlet. The kind that comes in a tube in is like Plato when you mix it yourself in your hands. I have tried to drill out a air screw but I was not successful I ended up for ruining the carburetor

Got the air screw out with a very small drill bit and a very small easy out. Now just have to find another air screw, spring and o-ring for it.
Now, on to the leaky inlet tube.
