Fumble fingered

Post by Erik S »

I have not done this in a long time- fumble fingered me dropped the idle adjust spring last night in my garage while reassembling the carb. Got down on my hands and knees with a flashlight. Then used my magnet to no avail. It must have wanted to join the socks that disappear mysteriously. I practiced dropping the other one, again no potatoes.
Would there be a kind soul with a junked carb from a CA 95 that would like to sell that spring? If a trade is required, I do have the turn signals and related stuff from my CA 95 that I'm not going to reinstall. Fact is, should someone need this stuff, send an address. Provided the kind soul who has the spring I need is not interested. Thanks.

No sweat. I have two sizes. PM an address. No trade needed. If you want to pay something, donate a few bucks to a charity or to the church basket.

My garage has a space that similarly accumulates dropped things like ball bearings and little parts that are yanked from my hand by the wire wheel and deposited there without the slightest sound. I'll look there for your spring.

Or even double check with a hardware store (I prefer the ACE HW near my vacation cabin in GA- they have everything including animal husbandry supplies) or a big box HD or Lowes. I've found unusual selections of hardware to "bail me out" from time to time.

Dudes, what can I say? This forum rules. I say all this and I'm 54 years old. Must be my 17 and 10 year old sons.
I'll measure the other springs length and diameter, though my inclination is to check the inkpen and Ace ideas. Being a scrounger I'm disappointed with myself for not thinking about this myself.
The offer still stands about the turn signals- just ask.
Thanks again all.
If this does not work- Spokes you are the best.

Sam, I sent an email to the address you contacted me from on the day that package came from the UK. This was about two weeks ago. I need to copy myself when sending an email. Did not receive a mailerdamon showing it was not received. Could it be in spam folder? With all that said- it came to the house in perfect shape, with a really cool stamp. Thank you very much sir.
Have not split the cases yet to see what's up with the kickstart. Did wash the frame, headlight bodywork, forks and front fender. They're slightly beat up, but I'll compound and wax. Original paint...
Most all parts have been cleaned, derusted and greased. Maybe by this time next year it'll run. Surely sooner, possibly.
This forum is extremely helpful. Thanks all.
